Witches Reel: Women’s Singing Flashmob
Come along to a short rehearsal where we will learn a couple of audacious songs, including the Witches Reel, an early Scottish women’s song dating back to 1590, to remember and celebrate those women who were oppressed and killed during that time, as well as the women who have suffered violence more recently, and continue to be harmed. The rehearsal will be followed by flashmob – more info will be emailed to those who sign up!
Please bring a light or candle, and one to share if possible. Please also bring a piece of card to write the name of one of the women killed during the witch hunts, or if you would prefer, a woman who has died at the hands of violence of any kind since then.
