This creative writing workshop will take as its inspiration By Moonlight, an art installation by Fi Bailey, which will be on display during the Festival.

The exhibition explores themes of risk, escape and visibility and is based on Midlothian County District Lunatic Asylum's Register of Escapes, 1875-1896. That archive is a record of fifty women who escaped the boundaries of Rosslynlee, as far as Peebles, Cramond and Portobello, each of whom is represented in the installation.

Your ticket for this event includes admission to Fi’s talk about her work (so please don't book it separately). You’ll then have an opportunity to view the installation with her, prior to the workshop.

With thanks to Lothian Health Services Archives/LHB33

All materials will be provided.  No experience necessary.
