Discover Edinburgh like you have never seen it before. Follow your guide Biffy and listen to the stories of some of Edinburgh's most famous women. Biffy is passionate about people and telling powerful stories. She has chosen this theme for her tour as during her training, she was the only woman. She believes it is important to educate men & women around the theme of gender equality and women empowerment. Stories include "Half-hangit Maggie" Dickson, author JK Rowling and your guide herself!

The tour will start in the Grassmarket (in front of Maggie Dickson's pub) and will last around one hour. It will finish by the parliament and you're invited to join Biffy in the Serenity Cafe where there will be an opportunity to purchase hot and cold drinks and ask her some more questions.

Invisible Cities

Invisible Cities is a social enterprise that trains people who have been affected by homelessness so they can become walking tour guides of their own city. We provide high quality training, in partnership with homelessness charity Crisis and each guide designs and delivers a tour that is tailored to them. We offer alternative tours of the city in that context and showcase local history, social enterprises and projects.

Biffy was one of the first guides to take part in Invisible Cities and has led her tour "Powerful Women of Edinburgh" for over a year. After a difficult period, she has fallen back on her feet and has moved into her own flat, just a few weeks ago!
