Join us at this 3-hour interactive workshop to try your hand at coding, build your own programs and discover the creative world of computing. Absolutely no prior knowledge or programming experience is required – just bring along your curiosity.
This is a gentle, step-by-step introduction to coding with Scratch, a fully visual and easy to use programming language. You will explore building your own animations and games and we can finish up with a group discussion about programming for social good.
Dr Areti Manataki leads the free online course Code Yourself, which has introduced over 140,000 learners worldwide to computer programming. She is a Teaching and Research Fellow in the Centre for Medical Informatics at the University of Edinburgh and has taught thousands of online learners how to capitalise on the power of data to enhance human health.
